Paramparik Tribal Harvest Arhar Dal / Tuar Dal
In ancient times, traditional farming was done by cow dung manure produced from the cows. The seeds used in this farming were also indigenous, traditional, delicious and nutritious. This farming was healthier and cheaper. Unlike in modern times, the rampant use of chemical fertilizers, hybrid/terminator/GMO seeds and toxic pesticides and multi-use of the tractor and harvesters have made our farming very expensive and poisonous.
In the ‘पारंपरिक Tribal Harvest’ series of Vidhyanjali, we are trying to preserve our natural seed bank (still prevalent in tribal area) by educating and promoting self-organic and traditional farming in these areas (Satpura Hills MP) and the farm produce is being presented to you as it is, so that our traditional, nutritious, non-toxic desi seeds can be preserved and cultured for many generations to come.
